Meet Our Newest Staff Member!

Welcome, LaTasha!

Ms. LaTasha R. Jones joined the Reference Department (Interlibrary Loan) in September! She grew up here in Fayetteville and graduated from Westover High School. Ms. Jones received a dual B.A. in English and Political Science, and completed an M.A. in English with concentrations in creative and technical writing (both from East Carolina University). Prior to joining the FSU team, she worked as a Senior Writer for a federal contractor in Southern Pines and previously worked on the campus of East Carolina. Ms. Jones is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and is active with the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter. She volunteers with the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County as a Docent, as well as with the Fayetteville Young Professionals. Ms. Jones is an avid reader and writer, maintains a blog, and her writing appears in several publications. She has two dogs and enjoys crocheting, among other creative activities.

Welcome Jaimie Rachal!

Jaimie is the new University Library Technician in Archives & Special Collections at Charles Chesnutt Library. She is originally from Hamlet, NC and graduated from Fayetteville State University with a BA in History in 2009. Jaimie has a 3 year old daughter and is expecting the newest addition to her family in November. She has worked at Cumberland County Public Library from 2008. Some of her interests include history – specifically Civil War and the WWII eras – as well as reading. Her favorite authors include Janet Evanovich and Charlaine Harris, as well as a fondness for Jane Austin books and related movies.

Welcome India Sawyer!

Mrs. India W. Sawyer is our new Reference Department Borrowing Assistant. A recent graduate of Fayetteville State University. She is the native of Scotland Neck, NC. She is the proud wife of Brian L. Sawyer. She is the eldest of four siblings. Mrs. Sawyer is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Family & Marriages. She strives for excellence in all that she does and looks forward to using her outstanding abilities, education and relevant work experience to help contribute to the mission and success of Fayetteville State University.

Meet Tiffany Chacon!

Tiffany M. Chacon is our newest staff member at Chesnutt Library. Tiffany is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Va with a BA in Political Science/International Relations. She has been employed in library systems for most of her career, with the most recent being Cumberland County Public Library, Spring Lake Branch in Circulation. Tiffany is married to George Chacon and the proud fur parent of two adorable Shih Tzu puppies (Teddy and Bella). Enjoys reading, foreign films and creative writing.

Takiyah Jemison is the new Cataloging Librarian at Chesnutt Library. -->

Takiyah Jemsion received her B.A. in History from Fayetteville State University in 2006. She received her Masters in Library Science From North Central University in 2009.Takiyah began her position as Cataloging Librarian on January 18, 2010.
