Meet Chesnutt Library's Newest Staff Members...

You may have noticed some new faces in and around the Chesnutt Library. We're happy to introduce you to them:


Maggie Chan, Library Assistant, Periodicals Department


Maggie Chan joined the Chesnutt Library in December 2007. As Library Assistant in the Periodicals Department, her main responsibilities include maintaining bound journals in the first and second floor and preparing paper journals for binding and shelving. Occasionally, she works with Mrs. Angela Rich to maintain current journals and newspapers in the library. She also works at the circulation desk occasionally.
Maggie is a graduate of Fayetteville State University. She is a Hong Kong native who speaks fluent Cantonese. If you are interested in Chinese culture or Hong Kong style cuisine, she will be glad to share some of her experience with you. Although you'll usually find her in the Bound Journals section of the Periodicals Department, she can also be reached by email at mchan@uncfsu.edu.


Jinong Sun, Government Documents Librarian


Jinong Sun joined the Chesnutt Library staff on March 3, 2008 as the Government Documents Librarian. Jinong has previously worked as a librarian at Florida College of Integrative Medicine and University of Central Florida for more than three years. Jinong was a journalist/editor in China for many years. To continue her professonal interest of “Keep people informed”, Jinong obtained her Masters Degree in information studies from Florida State Unverisity as an Beta Phi Mu recognized member in 2004.

As Government Documents Librarian, Jinong is reponsible for selecting, receipting, and processing the Federal depository library materials as well as the State depository materials. Jinong is currently working on compiling government documents subjects guide and web contents for the webpages of Government Doucments. Jinong also assists students with all of their research needs including identifying resources, locating books, searching the library’s databases at reference reference desk. David Sprague, Library Assistant, Acquisitions Department



David was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and also lived in Spain for eight years. He then moved to South Jersey where he attended and graduated from Burlington County Institute of Technology High School, majoring in Computer Data Processing. In 1992 he relocated to Fayetteville and started working for the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles. He had the privilege of becoming a training officer with the Field Operations Support Unit of DMV and has worked with the City of Fayetteville Police Department. He's been married since 1995 to his wonderful wife LaVonne, who for the last 12 years has worked for Branch Banking and Trust and is currently a Certified Relationship Banker. They have two wonderful sons; David age 9 and Devon age 3. You can usually find him in the Acquisitions Department or email him at dsprague@uncfsu.edu.
