According to CNNMoney.com, Google "the Internet's leading search engine, announced Monday that it is buying popular online video site YouTube for $1.65 billion in stock." This acquisition has raised several questions as to the future of YouTube as we know it including "Google Video and YouTube will remain independent, but will the two companies make different deals with content owners?" and "Will YouTube move its videos over to a Google data center?" Google Debuts New Beta Product: Google Code Search
On October 5, 2006 Google debuted Google Code Search which allows users to search "open source code," meaning source code that's already available to the public, on the Internet. According to this article in Computerworld.com this new search tool may "help simplify life for developers, [but] can also be misused to search for software bugs, password information and even proprietary code that shouldn't have been posted to the Internet in the first place, security experts said Friday."
